It's Moving Day!

Home. Home is where my family is. We have called so many places home in our 20+ years of marriage, I have lost count. Actually I haven't but it seems like an abundance. We have moved a total of 13 times (counting this last time). Crazy, huh?  But this time, Lord willing, is our last.  We became homeowners last month and it is one of the most thrilling moments of our lives!  We have been doing an incredible amount of cleaning and slowing moving things to our new home, and today we complete our last and final load. Today is moving day.  Tonight we spend the first night in OUR home.  Words cannot express the feelings I have right now.  I'm a little nervous too... I keep expecting a big meteor to fall from the sky and crush my ecstatic emotions. This has been a long journey for our family, and one filled with some crazy outlandish tales.  But I wouldn't trade the ride for anything in all the world.  God has and always will be our rock and our fortress, and has and always will be there for us thru ever mountain and valley.  He has met our every need.  He has never failed us. Glory be to the LORD most high, for He alone is worthy of all praise!

"I love the LORD, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.  Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live." ~Psalm 116:1-2

Exciting News!

I never thought in a million years this day would come. But it has... to us... after 20 years... We are HOMEOWNERS! I am one happy woman!  God is so good to have blessed us with a home of our own in spite of our unworthiness. It has been a long road with many bumps, but it has been SO worth it!  He alone deserves all the glory and praise!  We have been thru many valleys but He has sustained us and been there with us thru them all.  I still cant' believe it...somebody pinch me!

Pics coming soon!

Back Home in Indiana...Literally!

It's been a long time.  A lot has transpired over the last couple months.  We have left our sweet land of Georgia and joined the ranks as Hoosiers once again.  We have left behind a lot of good memories, memories we will never forget.  We are so happy that God gave us the opportunity to live in the South, even if for but a short span of our lives.  Nearly 6 years, yet in that 6 years, we became true Southerners. It truly felt like home.  Georgia will always have a special place in our hearts.  It is also the birth place of our sweet Liberty, so we will most definitely have to visit someday to show her the land of her birth.  Georgia...we will never forget you!

But, we are back home in Indiana!  What a joy to be able to serve the Lord wherever He leads!  (although, I feel as if I've lost my right arm...my little sis is still in Georgia with her family, waiting on God's appointed time to move up here as well...please keep them in your prayers)  Please pray for us all as we seek to reform our families to God's word each and every day.  May all that we do bring Him glory, for that is our chief end.  We look forward to following where Christ leads as we serve Him in the good ole' Hoosier state!

On the move again!

Well, it's finally final!  We are moving!  Everything is falling into place for us to move back to Indiana in the next few weeks.  It feels like we have been waiting forever, but we are thankful to the Lord for providing for our needs.  It is so easy to get impatient and start leaning on our own understanding, instead of waiting on God's perfect timing.  But He knows what He knows, and we only think we know what He knows, but in all reality, we know nothing.  :)

Anyway, it's good news, and I probably won't be posting on here much (if at all) until after the move. As soon as the dust settles, there will be pictures for sure!

Happy Summer!

New Beginnings!

Things are going to drastically change for our family in the next several months...but it's a good change!
We are moving BACK to Indiana!  God has called us back to our old home state to labor for His Kingdom.  We are so excited about this new adventure and can't wait to see what He has in store for us.  Don't get me wrong...Georgia will always be dear to our hearts; we have so many fond memories to hold dear.  5 years of our lives have been lived in this great state, and we are thankful for the opportunities God has granted to us during this time of our lives.  But there is a nostalgia about moving back home...the place we know and hold so dear to our hearts.  I am so grateful God is allowing us this opportunity...
this chance to go ...back home.
So, I've decided to start a new blog... sorta like a new beginning, or a new chapter in our lives.  All the old posts will still be here from the old blog, but I'm giving it a face-lift and a new name. You'll still be able to access Away Down South for a little while longer.
The new blog is Back Home in Indiana. It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?  If you would like to follow my new blog, please click on the link to the right {where it says, "follow"}{just make sure you do it on the new one, not the old one}...I would greatly appreciate it!  I will try to keep y'all posted about our progress as it takes place...Thank y'all for your dear friendship and kindness to us...
{you know who you are} it means so much to us!
Until next time...Come go with us!

God is Good!

Well, we are in the middle of our move.  When you are excited, it seems like things just can't move fast enough!  That's how it is with me right now.  I am SO excited to be moving to our new house, I want to do it TODAY, yet there are things that have to be accomplished first, so I have to be patient...and pack....and then pack some more!  Patience has never been my strong suit.

God has been so good to us in allowing us to find this beautiful old house.  It has always been a dream of mine to live in an old house, and He has answered my prayer.  The finances it takes to move are plumb crazy, but I know that God will supply those needs as well, He always does.  I may fret and worry about where it's going to come from, but He has always seen us through.  {If you haven't noticed, this is a pick-me-up post}   :)

I want to thank each one of you for praying for our housing needs.  God was and is with us all along, and He moves in such fantastic ways!

Soli Deo Gloria!

So much to tell!

First things first...Our oldest daughter Rachel turned 17 yesterday.

Umm...wasn't  I  17  just yesterday?

Talk about weird.

Anyway, we are so proud of her.  She has become quite the Godly young lady.  I don't think there is anything she can't do.  She is truly as beautiful inside as she is on the outside.  I can hardly believe she is 17 already.  The years have flown by SO fast!  I can still remember the day my water broke...just like it was yesterday.  Life is such a vapor...
We are so thankful God brought her into our lives!
Our children are such a blessing to us!

News #2....We are moving!  And I am so excited!  And SO very thankful!
God answered our prayers above and beyond anything we could have ever dreamed!
I am still in awe at the way God worked it out.  There is no question that it was an act of God.  I am so thankful for His goodness and His kindness towards his children. As soon as possible, I will be posting pictures.

Have a Great Independence Day!

We've moved!!

We have finally settled into our new home! Life is starting to return to normal.......whatever that is!! I now have 9 weeks left to go in this pregnancy, and I am starting to feel "old".
For all of you that don't know.....James resigned as Pastor of McDonald Baptist Church last month, and we are in the process of starting a church in our new area. We made alot of good friends in Sylvania, and we have no regrets for the 19 months that God placed us there, but we know that God has a different plan for our lives. We believe that we are not called to sit on the sidelines, but to be actively serving God in every capacity, and we could not do that where we were. I am excited to see God at work in our lives! HE has NEVER let us down! Some people may think we are crazy to live this life of faith, but I believe that is where God uses us the most....completely trusting in Him. It is so easy to forget that He is our all when we are living a life of comfort and ease. "I thank you, LORD, for being so good to us!" Do pray for us in this new endeavor. May we seek to glorify God in all that we do!
We are also gearing up for a very special week!!! My sister Lucy and her husband Devin and their 3 young'uns are coming for a visit! We are all very excited! They are very special to us!
I will post pictures as soon as possible! What a mighty God we serve!

Sylvania, Here We Come!!

We were voted into McDonald Baptist Church on Sunday, Sept. 23rd! We received 100% of the vote! It has been our dream to be used by God in a mighty way, we just never dreamed He would bless us so much! We fell in love with the people the very first time we met. It is going to be wonderful to serve with them.

We are planning on moving soon, and we are definitely going to miss our dear family in Christ at Unity Baptist Church. It has been such a blessing to know each and everyone of them! But at the same time, I am so very thankful that God guided us to them and gave us friendships that we will always cherish.

Please keep us in your prayers as we endeavor to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

May His name be glorified in everything we do!
